Spears & Tribbet [AWA some of those other guys mentioned] are some real shin-kickers of drummers.

Sorry to dissapoint guys, but for the last couple of years, Tribett hasn't played with Jill Scott... Concequently if there is a Jill Scott DVD, Erik Tribett won't be a part of it.
Jill's drummer now is Erik Green. He's fast but not nearly as inventive and funky as Tribett.
Tribett is now playing with Floetry.

Is there any videos/DVD's/CD's that Aaron Spears is playing on? I've heard that this is a cat drummers should check out but I have not yet heard him play. I really dig Chris Coleman's playing, so I believe I'd dig this guys drumming as well. Also, I think I read in a previous thread that Jill Scott was coming out w/ a DVD, and that her drummer tears it up. Is this Aaron Spears? And what's the low down on Eric Tribbett. He played on some of Jill Scott's albums. Maybe he is the drummer I'm thinking of...Also, I've heard of an artist to check out called Tye Tribbett. He is supposed to have a killer band, George "Spanky" McCurdy has played on some of his stuff. I've recently heard of these artists and drummers, and am hearing or reading about them more and more, yet I have not ever heard them play. Any help?

Hey guys, what are some discs that best represent an uninhibited Spears or Tribbett, & say BFMoore? [That don't have too much sequencing/sampling/machines, but more raw, live kit - hard one these days for bread-&-butter gigs, I know ] Any live discs out w them?
I'm holding onto this Grammy VHS... At least there were indeed some great drummers in the line-up of the usual dog-n-pony, blow-rainbows-n-sunshine, arse-kiss, we're-not-worthy ritual...I have it qeued [cued?!] right up to that spot in Usher's perf where AS takes those breaks in the hits/kicks...too freekin' cool.
Or do I have to stick w "live" to know what these guys are all about... am I asking to much

i checked out that dvd yesterday and man....
Aaron is an absolute monster on the kit.
Where do these chops come from???i mean,i've never heard sthg quite like that before in that style of music.I can hear some similarities with Tribett's style but spears'chops are ridiculous!!
someone get me a crane to put my jaw back where it belongs.
I'm in shock!!
Can anybody tell me what kind of fills that man pulls off.I hear a lot of dbl bass drum but still, not sure if it really is.
We're gonna need our best men from the board to decipher it.

Man,
I love Spear's playing, get me a DVD and I'll break it down lick for lick!
I don't have an easytree account, and even if I did, I'm on a dial-up modem connection so it'd take a few months to download! If anyone can copy this to DVD and send me a copy, (I'd refund you in full of course!) I'll do anything you need!!
